As a journalist, author, and futurist, I combine research, analysis, and narrative journalism.

I’m interested in the questions behind the headlines, the stories behind major developments, and the future already taking shape within them.

We live in a time when so much is changing at once. Technologies, political systems, societies, and landscapes — and with them, our ideas of what the futures might look like.

I’m interested in the stories behind these changes.

I research and write about the forces shaping our present and defining our future. I look for connections, contradictions, and the people through whom broader developments come into focus.

Sometimes, it becomes a book. Sometimes, an essay or a feature story. Or a story that can only be understood by being there.

Always, it comes down to the same thing: looking closer.

My nonfiction book on the Anthropocene explores this question.

Journalism.

I write about political and social developments, questions about the future, and the dynamics shaping our world.

To do so, I often report from the places where these changes unfold: talking to people, exploring specific locations, and observing developments firsthand.

This work takes different forms, from political analysis and essays to reportage, interviews, and long-form features.

Whether Greenland, social change, or the big questions shaping our future, I’m always interested in looking beyond the surface.
